SearchEnabler was a platform to help businesses with digital marketing and search optimization.

However, SearchEnabler did not become a huge success. But Khadim did not give up. He learned valuable lessons from that initial attempt. He and Vara Kumar realized that businesses were buying very expensive software. But their employees did not know how to use those applications properly. Training took a lot of time and money. Khadim wanted to solve this universal issue.

The Birth of Whatfix

In the year 2014, Khadim Batti and Vara Kumar Namburu launched Whatfix in Bengaluru. The idea behind Whatfix was very simple yet powerful. Whatfix built a Digital Adoption Platform (DAP).

Think of Whatfix like an interactive guide inside a software application. When an employee opens a new program, Whatfix shows step-by-step pop-ups and tips on the screen. It guides the user in real time. People do not need to read long manuals. They can just follow the screen prompts.

This simple idea transformed the way global enterprises worked. Companies saved millions of dollars in training costs. Employees learned new tools within minutes.

Khadim led Whatfix with great vision and patience. Under his leadership, the company grew rapidly year after year. Whatfix opened offices in multiple countries. They built teams in the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.

The company grew to employ over 800 people. More than 500 major businesses around the world became its clients. This included over 100 Fortune 1000 companies. International investors took notice of Khadim’s leadership. Whatfix raised more than $140 million from top global investors. Big firms like SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India), Dragoneer, and Cisco Investments invested heavily in his vision. By 2024, after a big funding round led by Warburg Pincus, Whatfix was valued close to $800 million. Khadim proved that an Indian software company could conquer world markets.
