People started loving it, talking about it, and telling their friends to go watch it. Now, this small-budget film has become a massive sleeper hit, crossing huge box office milestones through pure audience love.
What Is the Movie About?
Hanuman Ansh is a deep devotional drama film written and directed by Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi. The entire movie is based on his own book called Divine Detour: That Changed My Life. It tells the early life story and spiritual journey of the famous saint, Neem Karoli Baba.
The story begins in early twentieth-century India with a young thirteen-year-old boy named Lakshman Das. The boy loses his beloved mother, and his heart breaks into small pieces. He leaves his home in Braj because he wants to find divine love. He believes that only true devotion can bring him close to peace and eternal connection.
As he grows up, Lakshman Das wanders through forests, sits under big green trees, and meditates near quiet rivers. He chooses a simple life away from money and false comfort. He does not care about power or worldly things. Instead, he spends his years in absolute devotion to Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram. Because of his deep pure spirit and pure devotion to Lord Hanuman, people start calling him Hanuman Ansh, which means a true fragment or essence of Lord Hanuman.
How Simple Acting and Pure Intentions Made It Famous
Actor Shobhinav Satyaa plays the main role of Neem Karoli Baba in this film. He gives a very calm, real, and natural performance. He does not use loud dialogues or fake hero actions. His simple eyes and gentle smile bring peace to the screen. Actor Chandan Anand also plays a key role and gives solid support throughout the story.
The team that made this film followed strict rules during the shooting process. Nobody was allowed to drink alcohol, eat non-vegetarian food, or use bad words on the movie set. Every morning, the entire cast and crew chanted the Hanuman Chalisa together before starting the cameras. You can feel this honesty and pure devotion when you sit inside the dark theatre room.

Famous Miracle Scene on the Train
One of the best scenes in the movie takes place on an old passenger train. Lakshman Das gets onto a first-class train coach without a ticket. A British officer gets angry and orders him to leave the train at a remote spot. The young saint steps down without any anger or argument.
However, right after he steps off, the train engine completely stops working. Engineers check every part of the train, but they cannot find any defect. The train simply refuses to move an inch forward!
The railway officials realize their mistake. They go to the saint, bow down, and kindly ask for forgiveness. Lakshman Das smiles, forgives everyone immediately, and gets back on the train. Miraculously, the train starts running smoothly again. He asks the officials to build a proper station at that village so poor villagers can travel easily. Today, that place is known as the Neem Karori railway station.
